摘要: Natural polysaccharides with health benefits are characterized by a large structural diversity and differ in building blocks, linkages, lengths. They contribute to human functioning as anti-adhesives preventing pathogen adhesion, stimulate immune maturation gut barrier function, serve fermentable substrates for bacteria. Examples of such beneficial carbohydrates include the milk oligosaccharides (HMOs). Also, specific non-digestible (NDCs), galacto-oligosaccharides (GOS) fructo-oligosaccharides (FOS) being produced this purpose mind, currently added infant formula healthy development newborn. mimic some functions HMO, but not all. Therefore, many research efforts focus on identification production novel types NDCs. In review, we give an overview few NDCs available [GOS, FOS, polydextrose (PDX)], outline potential alternative oligosaccharides, pectins, (arabino)xylo-oligosaccharides, microbial exopolysaccharides (EPS). Moreover, state-of-the-art techniques generate dietary glycans, including sialylated GOS (Sia-GOS) galactosylated chitin, presented way obtain prebiotic that help shaping microbiome.
