Irradiation, methotrexate toxicity, and the treatment of meningeal leukaemia.

摘要: Abstract 31 patients with meningeal leukaemia were randomised to therapy intrathecal methotrexate and without 2400r the cranial vault. Remissions achieved in 29 patients. Remission duration was significantly longer (234 + days) group receiving alone than those irradiation (125 days). A spectrum of toxicity seen after administration ranging severity from chemical arachnoiditis which common (17 patients) through transient paresis (1 patient) encephalopathy (2 patients). These toxicities just as preservative-free preservative, therefore should be ascribed direct toxic effects itself or its breakdown products rather preservative. The neurotoxicity must taken into account evaluating risks benefits for leukaemia.
