摘要: INTRODUCTION Brain tumours are the most common solid tumour in childhood, while Magnetic Resonance Spectroscopy (MRS) studies have been performed on brain previously, majority adult patient population and at long echo times. The work presented this thesis outlines usage of short time MRS characterisation childhood tumours. METHODS Short was children with diagnostic imaging. In addition, follow up data accrued for some patients. Resulting spectra were assessed characteristics either diagnosis, prognosis or treatment response. RESULTS Spectra collected used assessing an array Initially technique tested a well understood dataset cerebellar tumours, later expanded to provide aids both stem pineal region A group pilocytic astrocytomas differences by location within brain, response treatment.
