摘要: Thyroid nodules are extremely common and can be detected by sensitive imaging in more than 60% of the general population. They often identified patients without symptoms who undergoing evaluation for other medical complaints. Indiscriminate thyroid with biopsy could cause a harmful epidemic diagnoses cancer, but inadequate selection lead to missed clinically relevant cancer. Recent clinical guidelines advocate conservative approach based on risk assessment as determined ultrasound features guide need biopsy. Moreover, newer evidence suggests that indeterminate results, combined including initial stratification or ancillary testing (molecular markers, second opinion cytology) further clarify cancer management strategies.
