A Study on the Warping Problems of Thin Flange under the Radial Forging Processes by FEM and Experiments

摘要: During metal forging, warping can easily occur on the edge of thin flange, causing it to fold, affecting sustainability application flange. This investigation proposes a chamfer design for die and taper ring gap, eliminate warping. First, radial forging process work-hardened materials is simulated, phenomenon flange analyzed, accuracy simulation experimentally verified. Secondly, materials, lubricants height gap are set as fixed parameters, analytical results dies with rounded corner, chamfered tapered compared. The experiments confirm that problem be solved effectively. follows.
