Potassium Uptake in Relation to Drought Tolerance of Chickpea Under Rain-Fed Conditions

摘要: Potassium is accumulated in substantial amount water stressed plants, contributing to osmotic adjustment. Eight varieties of chickpea were field grown according randomized block design with three replications during two consecutive crop seasons explore the role K uptake drought tolerance under rain-fed conditions. Plant relation and other physiological parameters measured at 70 days after planting, while potassium yield recorded harvest. The divided into high (HKU), medium (MKU) low (LKU) groups, using average across seasons. All data statistically analyzed group-wise. HKU, followed by MKU LKU (i.e. HKU>MKU>LKU) gave highest values for most studied including seed biomass.
