摘要: Abstract Electrophoretic deposition (EPD) technique has been developed for the fabrication of antibiotic-loaded PHBV microsphere (MS)–alginate antibacterial coatings. The composite coatings deposited from suspensions with different MS concentrations were produced in order to demonstrate versatility proposed method achieving functional tailored drug loading and release profiles. Linearly increased deposit mass increasing was obtained, found be homogeneously stabilized alginate matrix. Chemical composition, surface roughness wettability measured by Fourier transform infrared (FTIR) spectroscopy, laser profilometer water contact angle instruments, respectively. co-deposition mechanism described two separate processes according results relevant measurements: (i) alginate-adsorbed (ii) non-adsorbed alginate. Qualitative tests indicated that containing exhibit excellent inhibition effects against E. coli (gram-negative bacteria) after 1 h incubation. coating system combined simplicity EPD can considered a promising modification approach controlled situ delivery or other biomolecules.
