摘要: The intraspinal administration of morphine has been employed increasingly in the management intractable pain malignant as well benign origin. We have encountered a previously unreported clinical complication: spinal cord compression by an inflammatory tissue mass surrounding subarachnoid infusion catheter administering morphine, leading to paraplegia. patient was referred our institution after and pump implantation for chronic, associated with pre-existing lumbar arachnoid fibrosis, multiple myelograms surgeries. may, therefore, had underlying propensity foreign body reactions. similar phenomenon, however, canine laboratory model. pathological features both preparation, masses around tip but not proximal segments, suggest effect related infusion, opposed infection or presence catheter. review settings pertinent literature.
