摘要: Opacity-limited fragmentation of gravitationally collapsing gas clouds is reexamined with inclusion realistic dust grain opacities and cooling rates. A minimum fragment size approximately 0.01 M/sub sun/ found in spherical collapse, but may be approximately-greater-than0.1 for spheroidal collapse. simple analytic expression given the characteristic protostellar mass above which further can occur during early opaque phases dynamical The effects rotation, collisions, magnetic fields are also discussed.
