摘要: Effective control of fluid dynamics is remarkable scientific and practical significance. It hypothesized that nanoparticles could offer a novel means to dynamics. In this study, laser melting was used investigate the feasibility tuning by possibly breaking existing limits conventional processing techniques. Alumina reinforced nickel samples, fabricated through electrocodeposition, were for experiments. Since melt pool surface controlled dynamics, topographies carefully studied reveal nanoparticle effect on Characterizations microstructures pure Ni Ni/Al2O3 nanocomposite carried out before after melting. The roughness sample reduced significantly melting, which broke limit polishing Ni. believed increased viscosity molten metal, thereby enhancing viscous damping capillary oscillations in pool, produce much smoother surface. Moreover, experimental study also revealed enhancement effectively suppressed thermocapillary flows would introduce artificial asperities results suggest are effective controlling overcoming processing. new methodology, nanoparticles, opens pathway enrich liquid based processes broad applications.
