摘要: Diesel vehicles are a major form of transportation, especially in developing countries. Recent concerns over the environment, increasing fuel prices and scarcity its supply have promoted interest development alternative sources petroleum fuels. In this investigation, castor oil methyl ester was prepared by transesterification using potassium hydroxide (KOH) as catalyst tested four-stroke, single-cylinder compression ignition engine. The test carried out at constant speed 1500 rpm different loads. results show that with an biodiesel percentage, carbon monoxide (CO) emission level decreases. reduction CO B05, B10 B20 averaged 13.75%, 25.02% 28.79%, respectively, compared to diesel (B0). comparative indicated CO, oxygen (O2) smoke density emissions found be lower when engine is fuelled B0, while dioxide (CO2) nitrogen oxide (NOx) increase marginally.
