摘要: Monoclonal antibodies to Naegleria fowleri and Acanthamoeba polyphaga were analyzed by enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay, indirect immunofluorescence microscopy, fluorescence flow cytometry assess specificity cross-reactivity with axenically cultured N. spp. Four monoclonal specific for had no reactivity A. polyphaga. Similarly, four did not react fowleri. Two of the other tested, while two demonstrated a high degree putative castellanii strain microscopy; this was confirmed one antibodies. These used identify trophozoites in infected brain sections patient who died suspected Acanthamoeba-caused granulomatous amoebic encephalitis, demonstrating potential utility direct identification clinical specimens.
