摘要: Nasotracheal intubation is an essential skill for clinicians involved in the care of acutely ill or injured patients. Unfortunately, it has dangers and difficulties any blind technique. Although usually performed awake patient, nasotracheal also been used apneic patient. Transillumination soft tissues neck with a lighted stylet shown to be reliable method orotracheal intubation. The usefulness longer, flexible as aid patient examined. Eighty patients, who were paralyzed, apneic, about undergo elective ear, nose, throat maxillofacial surgery randomized nasotracheally intubated blindly by emergency medicine resident anesthesiologist. Sixty-three percent lighted-stylet group 41% successfully intubated. There no significant differences time needed intubate number attempts. notable success rates individual intubators each not statistically significant, our results suggest useful role
