Characterization of a periodic instability in filamentary surface wave discharge at atmospheric pressure in argon

摘要: This study reports on a periodic instability in microwave atmospheric pressure surface wave plasma. Time-resolved observation by means of high-speed camera reveals that the discharge can operate two different regimes. The operates either static mode controlled number filaments propagating alongside wall fused silica tube or dynamic one more straight together with revolving filament. Microwave power and argon flow rate are interpreted as scaling parameters govern self-organization discharge. operating diagram is formed alternating stripes well-defined borders.
