摘要: We provide in this article a number of new insights into the methodological discussion about author co-citation analysis. first argue that use Pearson correlation for measuring similarity between authors' profiles is not very satisfactory. then discuss what kind measures may be used as an alternative to correlation. consider three particular. One well-known cosine. The other two have been before bibliometric literature. show by means example choice appropriate measure has high practical relevance. Finally, we statistical inference. © 2008 Wiley Periodicals, Inc.
