摘要: Obesity is a health problem affecting more than 40% of US adults and 13% the global population. Anti-obesity treatments including diet, exercise, surgery pharmacotherapies have so far failed to reverse obesity incidence. Herein, we target with pharmacotherapeutic approach that decreases caloric efficiency by mitochondrial uncoupling. We show recently identified uncoupler BAM15 orally bioavailable, increases nutrient oxidation, body fat mass without altering food intake, lean mass, temperature, or biochemical haematological markers toxicity. hepatic fat, inflammatory lipids, has strong antioxidant effects. Hyperinsulinemic-euglycemic clamp studies improves insulin sensitivity in multiple tissue types. Collectively, these data demonstrate pharmacologic uncoupling powerful anti-obesity sensitizing effects compromising intake.
