摘要: The most important issue, besides financial viability, which stops oil and gas industry from operating in full scale Arctic seas, is the harsh environmental conditions, can undermine spill response actions case of accidents. methods technologies that are currently use, cannot deliver efficient fast recovery sea surface under icy, stormy, low visibility extremely cold conditions. In 2015, Emergency Prevention, Preparedness Response Working Group Council (EPPR), an international body strengthens (OSR) region, discussed need improvements this field. 2018, after comprehensive studies waters, EPPR concluded natural climate conditions too challenging for present level OSR preparedness many regions. There still technological limitations no optimized strategies abatement. Thus, issues will stay on agenda future, too.
