Rooting Depth and Extreme Precipitation Regulate Groundwater Recharge in the Thick Unsaturated Zone: A Case Study

摘要: Many modeling efforts have been made for shallow soil, but little has done in deep-rooted ecosystems, especially on the long-term impact of vegetation to understand type hydrological processes. In this study, we used Community Land Model (CLM) version 4.0 simulate soil water dynamics and groundwater recharge with shallow-rooted cover critical zone 100 m thickness. We selected winter wheat summer maize represent apple trees as growing semi-humid Loess Plateau China over period 1901–2015. Our results show that rooting depth precipitation dictate occurrence disconnected recharge. This occurred depths were below 75 wet years annual 650, 730, 1000 mm field, orchard, respectively. Connected was major component all three crop fields. The transit time ranged from several hundreds via is caused by extreme connected generated other precipitation.
