摘要: Mupirocin is a topically applied drug that very active in the eradication of nasal carriage methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA). However, studies designed to compare mupirocin treatment with other antimicrobial regimens are lacking. We therefore conducted an open, prospective, randomized, controlled trial efficacy and safety versus those oral co-trimoxazole plus topical fusidic acid (both clorhexidine scrub bath) for MRSA from extranasal carriers MRSA. The rates at 2, 7, 14, 21, 28, 90 days were 93 93, 100 100, 97 94, 92, 96 95, 78 71%, respectively, carriage. At 28 by two 23 74, 83 76, 45 69%, respectively. efficacies both similar. isolates not resistant study drugs either baseline or follow-up. These results suggest acid, used conjunction chlorhexidine soap bath, equally effective safe carriers. was easier use but more expensive.
