摘要: Monthly estimates were obtained of the density small rodents in tropical grassland Rwenzori Park, Uganda between April 1972 and September 1973. Of 12 species present, most numerous Lemniscomys striatus, Lophuromys sikapusi, Mus triton, Mylomys dybowskii Praomys natalensis. In a live trapping grid using direct enumeration, numbers caught, Hayne's Lincoln Index Jolly's method. ranged 16·67 63·32 animals per hectare. Intensive removal trappings also undertaken these gave 6·45 to 27·24 The inconsistency two may be accounted for by microhabitat vegetational differences. Breeding occurs during wet season whilen it is more extended but nevertheless seasonal. There considerable evidence rapid population turnover as five examined detail had mean duration residence three months. Few resident than eight months. The monthly standing crop biomass from 672 2221 g/ha on 348 1126 intensive grids. Estimates net annual production rely number assumptions are relatively high ranging 5897 7072 g/ha. Fires significant indirect effect composition fauna. triton increased their months following burn levels not previously attained whereas less frequent this period. Several avian, reptilian mammalian predators recorded.
