摘要: Exposure of influenza virus to an acidic environment, which is known be required for viral fusion and hemolysis, has recently been shown induce a conformational change in the hemagglutinin molecule. In present study, we examined effects acid incubation on antigenicity, biological activity, morphology A/PR/8/34 (H1N1). Incubation PR8 at pH 5 absence erythrocytes resulted rapid irreversible loss hemolytic activity infectivity. Apart from less distinct appearance surface projections slight damage envelope structure, did not result gross morphological changes architecture. The acid-induced could detected form greatly increased or decreased binding many monoclonal antibodies directed each four major antigenic regions hemagglutinin. Triggering alterations was similarly dependent. addition, different dependencies egg-grown trypsin-treated MDCK-grown viruses coincided with analogous dependence that were observed these viruses. These observations are compatible idea some anti-hemagglutinin detect initiation hemolysis.
