摘要: The use of biodegradable polymers made from renewable agricultural products such as soy protein isolate has been limited by the tendency these materials to absorb moisture. A straightforward approach for controlling inherent water absorbency involves blending special bioabsorbable polyphosphate fillers, isolate, plasticizer, and adhesion promoter in a high-shear mixer followed compression molding. procedure yields relatively water-resistant, polymer composite, previously reported. aim present study is determine biodegradability new filler/soy plastic composites monitoring carbon dioxide released over period 120 days. results suggest that biodegrade satisfactorily, with fillers having no significant effect on depolymerization mineralization plastic, processes would otherwise result nonbiodegradable composites. Further, indicate biodegradation useful service life biocomposites may be controlled changing filler concentration, making applications which control resistance critical.
