Optical Coherence Tomography Angiography: A Useful Tool for Diagnosis of Treatment-Naïve Quiescent Choroidal Neovascularization

摘要: Purpose To describe the optical coherence tomography angiography (OCT-A) features of treatment-naive quiescent choroidal neovascularization (CNV) secondary to age-related macular degeneration, and estimate detection rate for by means OCT-A. Design Diagnostic tool validity assessment. Methods Treatment-naive CNV were identified from a pool patients at 2 retina referral centers. Patients underwent complete ophthalmologic examination including fluorescein angiography, indocyanine green spectral-domain tomography, Detection rates OCT-A estimated with second cohort without (negative controls). Results Twenty-two eyes 20 consecutive included. In 4 out 22 it was not possible classify "shape," "core," "margin," "location," either because vascular network clearly shown (3 cases) or visible all (1 case). shape on rated as circular in 8 irregular 10 eyes. core margin considered well defined 15 poorly 3 showed small loops 9 large other 6 location foveal-sparing 12 Sensitivity specificity turned be 81.8% 100%, respectively. Conclusions allows clinician noninvasively identify may useful guide frequency of return visits and, possibly, make treatment decisions.
