摘要: Abstract The optimal design of cold-formed steel columns is addressed in this paper, with two objectives: maximize the local-global buckling strength and distortional strength. variables problem are angles orientation cross-section wall elements—the thickness width sheet that forms fixed. elastic local, global loads determined using Finite Strip Method (CUFSM) (with given length) calculated Direct Strength (DSM). bi-objective optimization solved MultiSearch (DMS) method, which does not use any derivatives objective functions. Trade-off Pareto fronts obtained separately for symmetric anti-symmetric shapes. results analyzed further discussed, some interesting conclusions about individual strengths (local-global distortional) found.
