摘要: Abstract By re-examining data on stationary and pulsed photoconduction in PDA-TS we re-enforce the occurrence of geminate pair recombination, yet show that conventional one-dimensional version Onsager's theory is inappropriate because it ignores (i) ballistic electron-hole separation (ii) 1D-recombination a Coulombically unbound charges same chain. considering both effects temperature field dependences carrier generation efficiency, including anisotropy can be explained. Transient photocurrent studies conjunction with recent work Moses et al. indicate photocurrents are dispersive within entire time domain experimentally covered so far (1 ns to seconds) no conclusion regarding motion along an individual polymer chain drawn. However, drift velocity weakly dependent only at E⩽ 5× 103 V cm−1 (≈ E0.2) starts approaching linear relation for E⩾2 × 104 cm−1. This effect attributed field-dependent barrier crossing rates accounts discharge trapping.
