摘要: Abstract In this chapter, we review and interpret research on multidimensional source memory paradigms. We focus in particular which two dimensions (e.g., color location of a word stimulus), or features, context attributes, are encoded subsequently retrieved. cover some the basic empirical outcomes interest, notably finding stochastic dependence among retrieval dimensions. Such implies that one dimension is related to retrievability other dimension. Many papers have established supported by encoding factors help bind items context, perhaps even context. Yet of, degree at does not always relate predictably manipulations, such as when people focused an phase. Moreover, theoretical proposals target processes, apart from producing dependence. Research has included external cuing test, suggests retrieval-specific causes been established. also discuss paradigms relevant multiple object features whether their dependent independent another. Mixed evidence results work, with arguing for relative independence but others strong associative relationships elements predict somewhat all-or-none contexts (i.e., dependence). attempt integrate these various draw broad, albeit tentative, conclusions about collective work. suggest areas should be considered future work memory.
