摘要: Recommendations for control of high blood pressure (BP) emphasize lifestyle modification, including weight loss, reduced sodium intake, increased physical activity, and limited alcohol consumption. The Dietary Approaches to Stop Hypertension (DASH) dietary pattern also lowers BP. PREMIER randomized trial tested multicomponent interventions on BP in demographic clinical subgroups. Participants with above-optimal through stage 1 hypertension were an Advice Only group or one two behavioural that implement established recommendations (Est) plus DASH diet (Est DASH). primary outcome was change systolic at 6 months. study population 810 individuals average age 50 years, 62% women, 34% African American (AA), 95% overweight/obese, 38% hypertensive. all the three groups made changes. Mean net reductions (S) Est intervention 1.2 mmHg AA 6.0 men, 4.5 non-AA 4.2 men. mean effects Plus 2.1, 4.6, 4.2, 5.7 four race-sex subgroups, respectively. changes consistently greater hypertensives than nonhypertensives, although interaction tests nonsignificant. caused statistically significant over under 50. lowered both groups, significantly more so older individuals. In conclusion, diverse people can adopt multiple lead improved CVD risk.
