摘要: BACKGROUND Computed tomography measurements of total skeletal muscle area can detect changes and predict overall survival (OS) in patients with advanced ovarian cancer. This study investigates whether assessment psoas reflects be used to assess sarcopenia cancer patients. METHODS Ovarian (n = 150) treated induction chemotherapy interval debulking were enrolled retrospectively this longitudinal study. Muscle was measured cross sectionally computed three ways: (i) software quantification (SMA); (ii) (PA); (iii) manual measurement length width the derive surface (PLW). Pearson correlation between different methods studied. Patients divided into two groups based on extent change area, agreement kappa coefficients. Cox-regression test predictors for OS. RESULTS Correlation SMA both poor (r = 0.52 0.39 PA PLW, respectively). After categorizing loss or gain, also all comparisons (all κ < 0.40). In regression analysis, predictive OS (hazard ratio 1.698 (95%CI 1.038-2.778), P = 0.035). No relationship seen PLW loss. CONCLUSIONS Change is not representative should substitute
