摘要: The study aimed to characterize neuropsychiatric symptomatology in Alzheimer's disease (AD) and investigate the role of APOE genotype other clinical variables onset disorders. Moreover, an attempt evolution behavioral psychiatric symptoms was made. Fifty-three consecutive outpatients with AD were enrolled. Twenty-four followed longitudinally for 1 year. MMSE used evaluate cognitive functions. inventory (NPI) administered assess symptoms. Genotyping determined through laboratory testing. At baseline, no specific disorder significantly associated ApoE genotype, but a peculiar profile. Patients epsilon(4) allele showed wider range disturbances when compared non-carriers higher scores hallucinations aberrant motor behaviors. longitudinal results suggest different trends both groups: over time, carriers increase/delayed some parallel decrease others, while presented undifferentiated worsening symptomatology. Clear relations demographic also found. is profile characterizing disease.
