摘要: Abstract This paper reviews research published since the Cold Spring Harbor Symposium of 1960 on “Biological clocks”. It is concluded that, despite annual increases in quantity which have appeared then, knowledge fundamental physiology rhythms has progressed relatively little. Adaptive functions fared even worse. probable that no single explanation diurnal vertical migration plankton will ever be found. There has, however, been further evidence for role circadian relation to physical factors terrestrial environment. These include water conservation among invertebrates and thermoregulation poikilotherms. The interaction such discussed photoperiodism. Biotic rhythmic activities are importance reproduction, feeding, escape from enemies and, presumably, competition, although there appears little factual this. Finally a discussion adaptive ...
