摘要: This paper discusses planktonic foraminiferal fauna results from the Alboran Sea, western Mediterranean. In this new record, as well in previously published records, a rather abrupt faunal change occurs around 8000 BP, dominance of Neogloboquadrina pachyderma (dextrally coiled) with Globigerina bulloides, to Globorotalia inflata bulloides. The argues that marks onset time more or less modern conditions distinct geostrophic fronts separating jet Atlantic inflow ambient Mediterranean waters. According hydraulic control model for Strait Gibraltar variable sea level, volume water BP (sea level at about −30 m) may have amounted maximum 86% its present value. Our reconstruction suggests, therefore, front-dominated Sea prevail only when is least volume, which should be confirmed realistic models circulation through and Sea.
