摘要: Publisher Summary This chapter presents molecular and functional insights into voltage-gated calcium (Ca) channels. Ca channels are not only found ubiquitously in nervous, neuroendocrine, muscle tissues, but also endocrine, epithelial, endothelial tissues. In smooth cardiac muscles, influx mediates calcium-induced release from intracellular stores stimulating contraction. skeletal act to transfer the action potential electrical signal a mechanical stimulus evoke ryanodine receptors which turn initiates endocrine neuroendocrine cells, through is coupled exocytosis of secretory granules. Over past decade, identity heterogeneous family has been elucidated led better understanding diversity form function these ion channel proteins. The summarizes recent developments made structure physiological pathological roles It explains classification structural determinants α 1 subunits.
