摘要: Using molecular dynamics simulations with recent interatomic potentials developed for Fe, we have studied the defects in thin films of pure bcc Fe induced by displacement cascade produced atoms 50, 100, and 150 keV impinging under a channeling incident angle 6 degrees to [001] direction. The thickness between 40 100 nm, reproduce samples used transmission electron microscope situ measurements during irradiation. In focus mostly on effect free surfaces damage production. results are compared bulk cascades. comparison shows that primary is quite different from originated volume material. presence near can lead variety events do not occur collisional cascades, such as production craters glide self-interstitial surface. Additionally, range energies used, predominant significantly reduces (C) 2014 Elsevier B. V. All rights reserved.
