摘要: Over the past several years we have been investigating effects of unilateral naris closure on olfactory system adult mice. Unilateral creates an experimental situation in which conditions within open-side nasal cavity are generally harsher than normal, while closed side milder. Because rodents obligatory breathers, forces all respiratory flows to pass through open side. This exposes more odors, xenobiotics, dry air, pathogens and particulate matter or normal cavities. In addition. eliminates cycle (a pattern alternating airflow between two sides nose; see Ritter. 1970: Eccles. 1978; Cole Haight, 1986). We believe that these create a chronic low level trauma for not negatively affecting Our studies examined on: 1) morphology epithelium: 2) rate mitosis neuronal stem cells 3) expression xenobiotic metabolizing enzyme, cytochrome P-450.
