摘要: Abstract Background Aconitum plants have been widely used in China for thousands of years. Recent evidences indicate that aconitine, the main active ingredient Aconitum, has immunomodulatory properties might be useful treating autoimmune diseases, such as rheumatoid arthritis. In this study, we conducted a pilot study to explore effect and mechanisms aconitine on treatment systemic lupus erythematosus. Methods A pristane-induced murine model was used. The mice were treated with (25, 75 μg kg −1 d , po ) 9 weeks. Every three weeks, proteinuria detected monitor kidney damage blood collected measure serum levels autoantibodies, besides pathological examination. major B cell activating factor pro-inflammatory mediators, PGE2, IL-17a IL-6, also detected. Results We found significantly improved mouse health, decreased elevated leukocyte counts, reduced level anti-double-stranded DNA (anti-dsDNA) antibody, greatly ameliorated renal histopathologic IgG deposit glomerular. Furtherly, mice. Conclusion demonstrated can inhibit progression disease ameliorate pathologic lesion
