摘要: OBJECTIVE To review the biomedical literature up to and including 2003, determine extent of evidence related therapeutic application chiropractic manipulation for paediatric health conditions. No critical appraisal is undertaken. DATA SOURCES The indexed manual therapy sector medical, chiropractic, physiotherapy, naturopathic osteopathic was searched. This included PubMed; Manual, Alternative, Natural Therapy Index System; Cumulative Nursing Allied Health Literature; Chiropractic Paediatric Economic Database Evaluation Project; Cochrane Library; Canadian Coordinating Office Technology Assessment database; Agency Healthcare Research Quality database. Other resources research conference symposium proceedings, references identified studies. RESULT search 1731 articles, which 166 met eligibility criteria. Two reviewers determined by consensus each citation's appropriate level on strength scale. There one systematic review, nine randomized controlled trials, observational study, 141 descriptive case studies 14 abstracts. SUMMARY claims made practitioners regarding as a care intervention conditions are, most part, supported low levels scientific evidence. Chiropractors, in particular, employ treatment wide variety rests primarily with clinical experience, few trials. need more rigorous inquiry examine value manipulative advance interests patients, decisions basis expert opinion or experience must integrate best available from high-quality,
