摘要: Topical microbicides represent a range of products historically developed to prevent HIV infection during sexual intercourse. Microbicides are being for both vaginal and rectal use, designed in multiple formulations delivery devices, including gels, films, tablets, intravaginal rings. Clinical effectiveness trials have been somewhat hampered by adherence microbicide it is anticipated that future clinical trials, as well post-approval market hence microbicides’ impact on the pandemic, could be critically impacted poor adherence. Adherence believed influenced, at least part, product acceptability. In this chapter, we focus science acceptability use. Given developers begun more broadly but also effective preventing STIs and/or can used family planning, present factors hypothesized acceptability, adherence, discuss potential directions development
