摘要: There is currently a strong need for collaborative augmented reality (AR) systems with which two or more participants interact over distance on mobile task involving tangible artefacts (e.g., machine, patient, tool) and coordinated operations. Of interest to us design develop an AR system supporting worker involved in the maintenance/ repair of complex mining equipment. This paper presents HandsOnVideo, our on-going work towards gesture based remote collaboration. HandsOnVideo designed developed using participatory approach. Following this approach, we learnt that helpers found it natural use their hands pointing objects explaining procedures workers valuable see person guiding them remotely. On other hand, observed form hand interaction supported by resulted network latency. describes some tradeoffs came across during process tested representative end users. These will be further investigated as part research agenda.
