摘要: A differential equation model of the attitude change process is proposed which considers an individual's as affected by discrepant messages along a unidimen-sional continuum. The posits two dynamic components: translation to new equilibrium due impulsive force message, and oscillation around moving due, in part, restoring forces resisting displacement from equilibrium. An experiment test some implications performed, 1174 subjects receive one three differing discrepancy their attitude, they are randomly assigned varying times during may consider message; almost all message for period not less than 10 more 815 seconds. structural with undamped found significantly but modestly fit data. Implications periodicity temporal parameters discussed, theoretical methodological approach taken considered.
