Facile synthesis of nitrogen-doped carbon dots from COOH-functional ionic liquid and their sensing application in selective detection of free chlorine

摘要: Heteroatom doped carbon dots (CDs) possess many unique properties and have attracted increasing attention. The precursor is vital for the preparation of highly fluorescent heteroatom CDs. Herein, 1, 3-bis(carboxymethyl)imidazolium chloride ([Im(AH)2]Cl, a COOH-functional ionic liquid) aminoethylethanolamine (AEEA) were firstly used as precursors to prepare nitrogen-doped (N-CDs) by simple one-step pyrolysis approach. effects reaction time, temperature, mass ratio on quantum yield (QY) N-CDs investigated. prepared are spherical morphology with an average diameter 2.4 nm, blue fluorescence QY 23.2% excitation-dependent emission behavior. They also good water solubility stability. In addition, based obtained N-CDs, sensing method free chlorine detection in acidic system was introduced. proposed has sensitivity selectivity chlorine, exhibits nice linear response concentration range from 0.2 22 μM limit 0.15 μM. Furthermore, this successfully applied detect tap satisfactory recovery (97%–103%), suggesting it potential application quality monitoring.
