摘要: In beef cattle, the main factors influencing nutrient partitioning between dam and fetus include age of dam, number fetuses, production demand, environmental stress. These play a critical role in programming for its future environment available resources. Fetal reportedly affects neonatal mortality morbidity, postnatal growth rate, body composition, health, reproduction. Two mechanisms responsible fetal DNA methylation histone modifications. Alterations genome can be passed through multiple generations. Maternal (nutrition, age, physiologic status) program progeny heifer reproductive performance.
