摘要: Abstract Semi-solid processing of magnesium alloys is generally based on conventional magnesium-based casting such as Mg–Al series. However, these do not give high mechanical properties the that are conventionally wrought Mg–Zn In this paper, a ZK60 alloy with addition Y was thixoforged. The semi-solid thermal transformation (SSTT) route and recrystallisation partial melting (RAP) were used to obtain feedstocks for thixoforging. Microstructural evolution during remelting studied at temperatures times. Tensile thixoforged components room temperature examined. Results show fine spheroidal microstructure can be obtained by RAP route. Compared route, SSTT shows coarsened solid grains relatively proportion intragranular liquid droplets. With prolonged holding time, grain sizes increased. Coalescence dominant in Ostwald ripening alloy. Thixoforging resulted successful filling die. tensile satisfactory exceeded those both decreased time.
