Metabolic syndrome and neurotrophins: effects of metformin and non-steroidal antiinflammatory drug treatment.

摘要: OBJECTIVE Metabolic syndrome (MS) presents with central obesity, impaired glucose metabolism, dyslipidemia and hypertension. Our aim was to examine the effect of metformin treatment either alone or in combination non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAID) on plasma levels nerve growth factor (NGF) brain-derived neurotrophic (BDNF) patients early stage MS (MS-es) generalized (MS-ge). MATERIALS AND METHODS The study compared 35 female MS-es (mean age 43.39±1.54 years) 40 MS-ge 45.69±2.18 10 age-matched controls each. Patients were administered 850 mg twice daily. divided into two groups 20 per group. One group received alone, while other 500 aspirin 150 Diclac Plasma NGF BDNF measured by ELISA. Statistical data analysis performed using ANOVA. RESULTS significantly higher lower than controls. decreased both after metformin. combined therapy those only. CONCLUSION NSAID is more effective production as well metabolism-related anthropometric laboratory features. This represents a pathogenetic therapeutic mechanism due its strong improves symptoms.
