摘要: Ventilatory acclimatization to hypoxia (VAH) is the time-dependent increase in ventilation that occurs mammals (including humans) during prolonged exposure hypoxic environments. Goats acclimatize rapidly, reaching a ventilatory plateau within 4–6 hours of breathing gas (Engwall & Bisgard, 1990). Evidence strongly suggests VAH caused by carotid body (CB) sensitivity goats (Nielsen et al, 1988). However, mechanism for increased CB remains unknown.
