摘要: OBJECTIVES Anthracyclines are well established as highly efficacious antineoplastic agents for childhood malignancy, but they frequently cause dose-related cardiotoxicity. For this reason, children who have received anthracyclines need periodical cardiac evaluation. The plasma levels of B-type natriuretic peptide (BNP) been shown to increase in proportion severity dysfunction. N-terminal BNP (NT-pro-BNP) is secreted from the ventricles response volume expansion and pressure overload. aim our study was investigate whether NT-pro-BNP troponin I (cTnI) can be used specific markers doxorubicin-induced cardiotoxicity with malignancy. METHODS We performed Dicle University Hospital, Pediatric Hematology Oncology clinic. Were measured cTnI 31 patients (14 boys 17 girls) doxorubicin-containing chemotherapy their malignancy at cumulative doses 30-600 mg/m2, between October 2000 December 2004. Cardiac evaluation included recording electrocardiography assessment systolic diastolic functions heart by echocardiography. RESULTS Of patients, 4 (12.9%) had left ventricular dysfunction assessed echocardiography. Plasma these were significantly elevated comparison healthy controls (p<0.001). when compared normal function (p<0.008). found under value all patients. CONCLUSIONS Measurement level may an easy practical tool, during treatment allow earlier-identification individuals risk monitoring damage. concentration a useful sensitive indicator receiving doxorubicin therapy.
