摘要: Lonicera japonica Thunb. (Caprifoliaceae), a widely used traditional Chinese medicinal plant, is to treat some infectious diseases and it may have uses as healthy food applications in cosmetics an ornamental groundcover. The ethanol extract of the flowering aerial parts L. (LJEE) was investigated for its healing efficiency rat excision wound model. Excision wounds were inflicted upon three groups eight rats each. Healing assessed by rate contraction skin sites treated with simple ointment base, 10% (w/w) LJEE ointment, or reference standard drug, 0.2% nitrofurazone ointment. effects on contents hydroxyproline hexosamine during estimated. antimicrobial activity against microorganisms also assessed. vivo anti-inflammatory understand mechanism healing. exhibited significant Staphylococcus aureus, epidermidis, Escherichia coli, Candida albicans, tropicalis. formulation prepared potent capacity evidenced correlated observed pattern. These findings supported histopathological characteristics healed sections, greater tissue regeneration, more fibroblasts, angiogenesis ointment-treated group. results indicated that possesses activity, enhanced production cytokines suppress proinflammatory cytokine production. suggest activities act synergistically accelerate repair.
