摘要: Objectives/Hypothesis To clarify the time course of recovery in patients with idiopathic vocal fold paralysis. Study Design Retrospective chart review. Methods Medical records for all paralysis over a 10-year period were reviewed to obtain demographic and clinical information, including onset disease function. Stroboscopic exams who recovered voice blindly assess return motion. Results Thirty-eight 55 (69%) Time could be assessed 34 did not undergo injection augmentation. The mean was 152.8 ± 109.3 days (left, 179.8 ± 111.3 days; right, 105.3 ± 93.7 P = .088). Two-thirds within 6 months. Probability declined time. Five 22 had motion; 17 not. differ between these groups (return motion, 127.4 ± 132.3 no 160.1 ± 105.1 P = .290). Conclusions Sixty-nine percent function, two-thirds doing so months onset. Age, gender, laterality, use augmentation influence rate. Declining probability leads us consider framework surgery after paralysis. Level Evidence 4. Laryngoscope, 128:148–152, 2018
