摘要: Reference x-ray powder patterns and the crystal structures of lanthanide compounds, BaR{sub 2}ZnO{sub 5}, in which R = La, Nd, Sm, Eu, Gd, Dy, Ho, Y, Er, or Tm were determined by Rietveld refinement technique. A structural trend was confirmed for this series compounds. The compounds with smaller ionic radii (R Tm) are isostructural to orthorhombic green phase (BaY{sub 2}CuO{sub 5}). lattice parameters Sm range from a 7.01855(9) {angstrom} 7.20452(14) {angstrom}, b 12.25445(17) 12.5882(2) c 5.6786(14) 5.81218(11) respectively. is sevenfold coordinated inside monocapped trigonal prism. These prisms share edges form wave-like chains parallel long b-axis. 5} contain larger size (La Nd) crystallize tetragonal space group 14/mcm. 6.90982(10) 11.5977(2) BaLa{sub 6.75979(5) 11.54560(12) BaNd{sub 5}. structure consists ZnO{sub 4} tetrahedra (instead planar CuO{sub groups as found BaR{submore » 5}) 10-fold bicapped square prismatic Ba 8-fold ions between them. reference will be submitted Powder Diffraction File (PDF).« less
