摘要: Publisher Summary Extraaxial brain tumors (EBTs) include an array of arising from structures and tissues directly adjacent to the brain, including meninges, nerve sheaths, pituitary gland, which give rise meningiomas, schwannomas, adenomas, respectively. This chapter discusses current management extraaxial tumors, with particular emphasis on three major types EBTs, schwanommas, adenomas. The also addresses general principles diagnosis, management, treatment, recent advances in diagnosis treatment these tumors. EBTs can cause significant symptoms, morbidity, even mortality; therefore, is complex must be decided based upon clinical radiologic attributes patient. Although radiosurgery often relieve tumor-related symptoms halt progression, microsurgical excision remains a mainstay all EBTs. Fractionated radiation therapy appears playing less role as most patients undergo resection, radiosurgery, or combination two. recommends that ultimately, long-term will require close neurological, radiological, biochemical surveillance.
