摘要: Background: Leptospirosis is an important sporadic zoonotic disease caused by the spirochete Leptospira icterohaemorrhagiae . The becomes a major public health problem, particularly during monsoon months. Materials and Methods : Analysis of autopsy findings 62 cases clinically suspected leptospirosis was carried out to identify pathology determine cause death. Results Most patients were young males who presented with fever, breathlessness, haemoptysis, bleeding, oliguria icterus. They died after brief stay in hospital. A post-mortem diagnosis made on basis characteristic organ findings, aided results serology, Levaditi's staining / or immunohistochemistry (IHC) kidney sections. Massive intra-alveolar haemorrhage (48 cases), acute interstitial nephritis tubular necrosis (45 cases) myocarditis (24 main findings. Haemorrhage various organs like heart, gastrointestinal tract, brain, pancreas adrenals also seen. Thirty 54 sections positive for leptospiral antigens IHC. There extensive haemorrhages lungs 48 (77%) that death most these cases. Conclusion Bleeding into tissues finding noted this study. examination dying revealed pulmonary individuals.
